Midre-Geez Microfinance (MGMFI) is an institution established with a clear mission, licensed by the National Bank of Ethiopia on April 28, 2025 G.C. under License No. MFI/072/2025 . Based in the Tigray Region, the institution was founded with the objective of elevating community benefit to a higher level by enhancing economic participation across the nation. Headquartered in Mekelle City, it is an organization that provides both microfinance services and consultancy.
By modernizing our services, we aim to be a competitive force in the sector by implementing our own Core Banking technology. Our institution is fundamentally independent and free from interference, ensuring efficient service for our users. To address regional accessibility gaps, we have already opened 6 branches providing credit, savings, and consultancy, with a strategic goal to reach over 40 branches within the next five years.

- Minimum opening balance is 50 ETB (ሓምሳ ቅርሺ).
- Requires ID, Passport, or Driver's license and 2 passport photos.
- Withdrawals require account holder's photo and signature verification.
- Transactions can be performed at any Midre-Gez branch.
- Operated by the owner or a legally authorized representative.
Compulsory Saving (ግዴታ ዕቋር)
Mandatory security deposit for individuals or institutions taking loans from Midre-Gez.

- Deposit amount ranges from 20% to 35% based on Loan Product type.
- Funds cannot be withdrawn until the loan is fully repaid.
- Cannot be used for regular loan installments during the term.
- Can be used to close the final loan balance (principal + interest).

Group Saving (ጉጅለ ዕቋር)
A collective saving account for group loan members to ensure mutual accountability.

Time Deposit (ብጊዜ ገደብ ዕቋር)
High-yield savings for fixed periods, available for individuals and institutions.
